A very public thanks for voting the right way

Dear voters,

Thank you this day for crossing our box.
For giving us faith, courage and belief in our time of need.

You gave us your vote and delivered our country from evil,
strife, and set us on a path to recovery.

You forgave our sins and gave us a chance to lead
in Lincolnshire, Central Bedfordshire, Staffordshire,
and Essex. *

And with your blessing, we will work for you.

Keep us firm to our promises
that we have set before you

And let us lead together in the light,
in our fight for democracy, love and peace.

Thank you voters,
brothers and sisters

Amen.

I voted blue and some bloody liberal won... how do you explain that?

Now watch how we are rewarded - reneging in full on Lisbon.

No surprises there.

O my Tory Party; what are you up to?

Don't you worry too much, NNW, the EU is still in a panic over the Irish. The feeling is that they are having to make so many changes to get the right answer (of course "no" can never be the right answer to a question do you want more power to Brussels) from them that there will need to be a new ratification in the UK.

If that is the case I suspect other countries will need to do so as well. Even if Brown forces it through again with no scrutiny, which will be trickier with an independent Speaker in the House and a weaker government, then other countries might delay long enough for us to lever Brown out of power. In fact it would be a fantastic vote winner for the anyone who offers a referendum in an election.

Ah, I shouldn't be such a sourpuss: it's in a suitably humble tone, I must admit, given we Tories have been up to our necks in it, too....

Anyway, I hope this blog gets some traffic from mine: grumpy old fart that I am.

Sorry, TTG.
